Theo Paul Forster and Dianne Heesom-Green
For this exhibition, well-known print artist Theo Paul Vorster, created a series of new linocuts. He made a limited number of prints, which he hand-colored and also hand-colored the original linocuts, which are on sale. He collaborated with Diane Heesom Green, which resulted in wonderful, playful sculptures also on show. Fresh, colorful and humorous work in these times of doom and gloom!
Dianne Heesom-Green currently lives and works in Paternoster. She studied art at Natal University, majored in sculpture and qualified as a teacher. She worked and taught from a busy studio in Cape Town until moving to Paternoster in 2005. She has exhibited in various exhibitions and was an Award winner at the 2005 Ceramic SA Regional Exhibition. Her previous exhibition titled “Wings of Light, Feet of Clay” collaboration with artist Chris Diedericks, was shown in New York.
Diane says : “When Theo asked me to collaborate with him I was at first daunted as each picture he presents is, in it self a ‘fait accompli’; a finished statement which asks questions and presents possibilities. It communicates with the viewer on a personal level within a reality peopled from Theo's imagination. What could I add to this? The figures then stepped off the paper. I have made them out of paper clay to keep their relationship with the printed image.
